i been reading like the moderators say

im not a computer wizzard and its hard reading about things you dont know half what the people are talking about
i dont have hours to read alot so i just read a hour here or there..

so ill tell you what is happening and you can ask me what you need to know to fix my problem

Vdub mod version 1.5.10.2
i tried capturing with Vdubmod and and the result is it has a partial green screen from the bottom up about 95% is green..about a sixteenth of a inch is video thats ok at the top

i dont know if you need to know any of this stuff maybe you do

i have vdubmod 1.5.10.2
i have windows 98 se os system
i have a ati all in wonder pro 128 video card
i have K-lite codec pack 162 if that matters it works with 98se

i really dont know how to use Vmod all that well either
i use it to crop AVI's basically and join them and use some filters for color correction and resizing too..
a lil recoding too thats about it
i read this and that about Vdubmod and know im not using it to its full extent but sooner or later ill master it
right now id like to try and use it to capture from my TV with my all in wonder for the first time
sorry i typed so much let me know what you need to know to help me out

Use vdub for capture, not vdubmod. mod has many, many long fixed bugs in its capture routines, it's so far behind. Alternately your driver is just broken, update with the latest available on amd's site.

i tried checking for another driver on AMD's sight...i thought maybe there was a newer driver i should get..but like i said im using windows 98 SE and my video card is a ALL IN WONDER 128 PRO...kinda oldish...and belive it or not..they dont even have the driver i have installed on my computer even on thier web sight any more..i think its the begining of the end for all 98 users:))..i wonder if 98 will be able to even connect to the internet here soon:))...thanks for your answer..i think im gona have to try out VDUB and read some more on how to make it work...oh oh one more question...can i have both VDUB and VDUB MOD on my computer? will that cause any problems?...thanks for your time

Maybe next thread gives you some ideas to work with (or at least some more search terms): http://www.rage3d.com/board/archive/index.php?t-17031.html

foxy shades you were right
it was my driver for my video card..
for my ATI all in wonder 128 pro...(my oldie but goodie..lol..)
i found this tid bit on your fourm..
If possible, use the capture device directly in DirectShow mode rather than using the VFWWDM32 driver.
what KEEP MONZO said here (i think thats his name)
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=761439#post761439

i had a older driver..
when i opened VDUB..
i clicked FILE>Capture AVI>..it opened..
then i clicked DEVICE..and under device.. IT WASENT THERE..it was something else..
there was no ATI RAGE THEATER VIDEO CAPTURE (Directshow)
like there is now that i have the newer driver for my card..
it said something else i forget becasue i have the new driver now..
PLUS!!!! the old driver DIDNT HAVE where i would go into
VIDEO>SET CUSTOM FORMAT...
the old driver DIDNT HAVE THE RIGHT CAPTURE SIZES available nothing over 320x240..like the sizes you want 480x360..640x480..720x562
they were only sizes like 480X240...640x240...720x240..
SO..if anyone has this problem with video sizes or the green thing..
i would check to see if you have the thing KEEP was talking about..lol..the thing..yeah im not a techy talker..
and make sure you have a newer video driver for your card
anyways..thanks for the help you DOOM-ERS..lol..
ha ha maybe i'll start a new word for you moders..
yeah im a DOOMER!!!..lol..anways
i have a NEW DRIVER..and VDUB now and its working..
yeah its a lil different then VDUBMOD....

yeah finding things pertaining to your question in this forum can be daunting..
but its out here it just might take a few days of reading to find it..
and besides you learn a few things while doing it..lol..
THANKS so much for all the help you DOOMERS give us all...you guys are pretty cool...THANKS!!!
THANKS ALOT FOR THE HELP..
