A member of the german board cannot use a recent mp4box on a specific PC (running Windows XP SP2), while I can execute the same file; his CMD console returns immediately:
"The system cannot execute the specified program."
This error message occurs with e.g.
MP4Box - GPAC version - 0.4.5-DEV - compiled by Kurtnoise - Sep 14 2007
but an older version works on his system:
MP4Box - GPAC version 0.4.3-DEV - compiled by Kurtnoise - Apr 23 2007
Is there anything missing, like a VC80 runtime? But IMHO, this error message is not very typical, it looks rather like a corrupt EXE header (which is not, as I could execute this version). Or is it the usual message for static DLL binding, and missing a required DLL?!

Yep, that's me. I just incidantly found this old version on my stick. It's 1,42 MB big. The other versions are just 1,23-1,24 MB big which are not functioning.
Ligh already posted the version informations.

On a separate issue, when I try to concatenate two mp4 files with YAMB, the output file does not work. The second audio happens where the first audio should be, and the file doesn't work after the first joined file (hope that makes sense). The file size seems correct (roughly the sum of the two file sizes) and the play length seems also to be correct.
I'm using the latest YAMB version, with Mediainfo 0.7.5.7, and have tried a few different mp4box versions. Just wondering whether it was a break in the latest YAMB, whether the updated mediainfo is being a nuisance, or whether it is mp4box.
The other features I use in YAMB work fine., and I have used the concatenate feature in the past with no issues (however mediainfo, mp4box etc have been updated in the meantime)
Thanks!

I'm using the latest YAMB version
you mean the 2.0.0.8 release or the last public beta (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=Yamb/&file=Yamb-2.0.0.8_20080121.zip) ?

I updated Yamb to the 21 Jan build, but it did the same thing as the previous December release. The log file below is for a test file I just did (I don't really want to join these two files, just used it as an example).

try this build (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=mp4tools/&file=MP4Box-0.4.5-dev_20080201_msvc6.zip) and this one (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=mp4tools/&file=MP4Box-0.4.5-dev.zip) and tell me which is(are) ok or not for you...
OK, I'll try it next week, when I can go back to my university.

@burfadel: could you try the new one (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=Yamb/&file=Yamb-2.0.0.8_20080203.zip) please...:)

OK.
Tried it today. The msvc6 version worked with pleasure. The another one didn't. What's the exactly difference?

That system might have installed runtime libraries for MS Visual-C v6 (either with XP out-of-the-box or with other very usual software), but not yet runtime libraries for Microsoft Visual-C v8 (and as I wrote in the beginning, that version 0.4.5 looked like being built with "VC80").

Really.
So as I correctly remember I even never installed any newer Visual Basic Software on my own computer or Laptop and MP4Box worked on every place.
May be VC80 will be installed without my knowledge by installing another software? oO

this build requires ms vc++ 2008 runtime...as already mentioned yesterday. too hard to make a search ?
I don't care to provide/link them except in the next yamb setup package.
