Hey, they could have developed their own software, and not be selling freeware. I mean it's possible. Extremely unlikely, but possible. Then again, perhaps they have the rights to distribute thousands of DVD movies online, and are kind hearted enough to do it for free.

well, if everything they are selling is gpl, then they are not actually doing anything illegal. at least that was the what I got out of reading one gpl interpretation. I could be wrong on that.

and of course, depending on your own interpretation, they part about the secret source could just be amazon.com, they could have just been saying the source was free, (no membership fee for amazon) not the dvd's.

but, if you ask me, anyone who buys anything without doing their homework first deserves to have their money taken away.

I just checked into the GNU GPL and it does state:
You may charge a fee for the physical act of transferring a copy, and you may at your option offer warranty protection in exchange for a fee. Of course, $70 is too much for copying, and they don't mention a warranty, but they do say something about 'live tech support', so they may include a warranty among other services. This could make it legal, but I'm no expert. This is assuming they are distributing GPL software.
