Hi guys,

I have a dvb-s card. so I captured some mpeg2 vob files. and i have virtualdub-mpeg2. and it encodes well. but i wanna ask something. my encoder details are right? or am i wrong?

i want only near a lossless encoding.. not lossless.

XviD 1.1.3 Final Build

Advanced Simple L5
NO b-frames No Adaptive No Qpel No Interlaced Encoding
No Global Motion No VHQ for b-frames
Yes Use Choma Motion
6-Ultra High, 4-Wide search. No Trellis
Maximum I-Frame 250 (for 25FPS)
2 31 2 31 2 31 2 31
Sharktooth's EQM v3HR matrix (Mpeg custom)
Two pass encoding Bitrate @ 2600kpbs
Mp3 Lame 256kpbs CBR

and when i do encode. then i see on Xvid Status

I-VOP min 5 max 6
P-VOB min 3 max 7

thank you!

without B-frames quality is very very bad... two b-frames is ok.. what you think..

Also, why not trellis? It's more useful than VHQ=4.

yeah i learned that. now i use qpel and trellis. also b-frames 2/1.62/0. and 2800bitrate for EQM V3HR. then I-VOP min3 max4, P-VOB min3 max5, bvop 4 8... i learned a lot of things from this site. thanks people!.. actually i want to learn something more. can i use Didee's 6of9 matrix at between 2500-3000k bitrate?.. EQM V3HR is better for it?.. or?..
