According to the Home page of Doom9 the Recording industry is backing a new Project called Qtrax... http://www.qtrax.com/ An add supported porthole for free music...



Initially I was like what ever morons... Then I, upon downloading that secretly planted load of crap Qtrax...

I found that its using as its base player SongBird
( http://www.songbirdnest.com/ ) A Mozilla Powered OSS Project...

I think a WTF is in order....

Read it, like it, Hate it, distroy it, what ever its here now...

They're just yet another company promising the moon and delivering nothing. Don't get too worked up over a dot-bomb, it's not like it's illegal to use open source software as a platform, it actually makes a lot of sense, though I don't know whether it's a skin or a mod of songbird itself (which would require open sources).

Joost is also based on Mozilla code and uses Mozillas XUL Runner which is Licenced under the Mozilla Public Licence not the GPL .
