Purposely adding black bars to xvid encode

Hi all,

I'm working with an anamorphic PAL DVD and I want to rip to xvid in a 4:3 format, adding black bars to preserve the 1.78 aspect ratio. I need the finished file to be 4:3 shaped

Can this be done with AutoGK, or will I need to find another method?

It's relatively easy with AviSynth, AddBorders() will do what you want. I don't think you can use custom AviSynth commands in AutoGK though... you'd have to go all-out and rip, make a filter script, and encode that.

If you can open it in VirtualDub Mod or MPEG you can crop and add borders then encode from it.
