Hey guys, I've read a lot of the guides and have been to a million websites trying to figure out what Im doing wrong, but I can't seem to get it. A little background on my computer: Vista Ultimate 32bit, 2GB Ram, Athlon x2 @ 2.7ghz, 1TB HD (sata3 7200rpm). Ok, the problem I'm having is when I go from .vob to .wmv-- no matter how big the output file is, its horrible quality. Ive tried changing the "Disk Settings" size to higher or lower, or even set it to "Dont care" and it still comes out pretty bad. Ive also tried to set the bit rate manually in the advanced settings tab, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Perhaps I should try a different program? Or maybe its a simple box check away from the right way?

Anyways, I'm trying my best to keep quality as high as possible, within 720x480 and also size to an absolute minimum. Any help?

you say Dont care" and it still comes out pretty bad. , are you sure you haven't a deinterlace problem ?

please post an image of the encoded movie

also.. as usual, a Log could help :)

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

How would I know if I had a deinterlace problem?

And I'm not entirely sure I can post the content of the video on here without getting banned -- Lol. And where would the log be saved to? In AutoMKV directory or elsewhere? I cant seem to find it :(

I ran a session of AutoMKV and I copied the logfile, which is ... what you wanted? LoL. Here it is:

Ok, I so installed all the stuff on that page, and now I get a program hang, it tells me the script "has stopped responding" as soon as its loaded. It gives me another "break" error in the log screen. I'll re-install everything and try it again. Any thoughts in the meantime?

make sure your antivirus don't block vbs script

Im using the latest AVG -- but I have it turned off at the moment. What im getting is an actual error screen "Microsoft Console based script host has stopped working, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly... etc etc"

The CMD window actually appears, and I can see the code in the window itself -- it just error windows. Dang...

edit: Ok, I fixed the problem. It was DEP owning the vbs lol
