Hello, I'm trying to burn a video to DVD that has dimensions that puzzle me. I don't know whether I should make this DVD a 16:9 or 4:3...I think I could do either, because of the way the video file's dimensions are, but I don't have a widescreen TV, so I'm really unsure of what to do. Please tell me how you think I should alter my video files (by adding black borders to make it fit on my screen), I have absolutely no idea what I should do.
Video Files
----------
=> They are DivX files
=> Dimensions are 640x368
That's all I know. I'll post more information if I can. Thank you for your time.

Seems like 16:9 would be a better fit, the existing file's dimensions have almost that ratio already. I'd just stretch it to that.

Do you see anything that you know should be a circle, but it looks deformed? Then change aspect ratio, other wise it is up to you to decide what looks most natural.
From those number you gave:
648/368 =~1.76... which is near 16/9 = 1.777...
I would say Creedo have right. Most player can change aspect ratio on the fly, so you will see when there is too much of a deviance from what it should have.

Thank you, thank you! You've both been very helpful, and I think I'll be going with 16:9 like you said. I checked the videos, and nothing looks distorted, everything circular looks circular...thank you both so much for your input on my problem, I really appreciate it!
