I use 112 ABR for divx movies. i'm having trouble where in "The Playa" the audio sounds like a broken record. someone told me to select no audio there and 112 for first channel audio encoding.
i do not use nandub or virtual dub manually (there are a few things in Gordian Knot i do not understand well enough to use)
is this option even necessary ?

your subject really doesn't match your post. the playa can't handle vbr (abr is a type of vbr) audio tracks.. you must use another player.

this post was mainly inquiring about the Interleaving and AVI overhead for audio tracks however i couldn't help but wonder if perhaps that had something to do with me not being able to play it with the playa. my appologies for my redundancy.
in the example a friend of mine gave me he selected no audio Interleaving unchecked. i wasn't quite sure why -- but he definitely knows what he is doing. i assume this type of thing is for size prediction only, but that is only speculation.

my understanding is that de-interlacing filters should only be used for interlaced sources -- where the dvd was encoded from analog video, for example.
