Windows Media Player plays my divx's without any trouble. I would prefer to use the Playa as it gives a better resolution. I dont know why but for some reason my divx's skip when using The Playa. its not even watchable. latest 4.12 codec. i dont know what i'm doing wrong.

basically i use lame 3.91 (maybe i should have stuck to 3.89 as it came in the package ?) using expert defaults with --resample 48 at the end. its pretty much brainless how to do it. i dont understand why i'm doing wrong though.

as in your other post (is it just me or did you post pretty much the same problem under 2 different subjects?)... the playa can't handle abr and vbr soundtracks.

The playa sucks. The video quality is okay but It can't handle VBR audio (seeking sucks especially), and it plays Jerky with the frames. I recommend the Zoom Player all the way. Download it Here! (http://www.dvd-digest.net/downloads/files/zoom_player/zplay230.exe) You'll never wanna look back, I promise.

p.s. It's not a crime to post in two different forums, if your unsure which would be best. But don't over do it with like 4 or 5. A lot of people on here will cry about it, especially Doom9 and the mods!

You can improve the quality of the WMP graphics output. Tools...Options...Performance Tab. Check "fullscreen" and reduce the Digital Video (DV) settings towards small. The former improves output when in fullscreen mode, the latter when in a window (to move the slider, etc.)

Yea, verily, so sayeth the WMP help file, amen.
