I've got a project in mind. I have this DVD set:
http://www.amazon.com/Movies-Begin-Treasury-Cinema-1894-1913/dp/B00005YUO9/

It's a set of five discs (unencrypted DVD-5's I believe) containing a bunch of movies that are best described as primordial. Each disc has a single main title with a whole bunch of chapters, and each "chapter" represents a complete movie (they're very short movies). There's only one audio track (Dolby Digital 2.0), no commentary track, no subtitles, and no alternate camera angles.

The majority of these movies are not very good - I've made myself a list of the ones I think are worth saving and their runtimes, and I estimate that these would just about fill a DVD-9.

So here's the project I have in mind. I would like to create a DVD-9 that is composed of the best movies of this collection, and then put that on my DVD shelf and put the original in storage. What tools will I need in order to accomplish this? If possible, I'd prefer they all be free ones, but I'm willing to spend some money on this project if there are no free alternatives and as long as it's not *too* expensive. And please don't recommend any "trial" software that expires after X days of free use.

I'm pretty sure that DVDDecryptor would be the first tool to use, but I'm not sure what my Stream Processing settings should be (or if I should use them at all), or what I should do from there.

Hi!

All you should need to accomplish this is DVD Shrink:

Thanks for the information! It's much appreciated - this tool does stuff that I thought I would need at least four more specialized programs in order to do.

I've got a few more questions, though. I've played around with this for a bit, and found I can add individual chapters from the main title by frame-selection, which is important because the discs only have three titles (one for the menus, one for the copyright info, and one for all of the movies one right after another). But it looks like the DVD I build with DVD Shrink will ultimately have about 3 dozen "titles," each with a single chapter, and no menus.

I'd like to be able to, at minimum, change this so that instead of having 3 dozen titles each with a single chapter, I have a single title with 3 dozen chapters. Can this be done? A chapter select menu would be nice too, even if it's an ugly one.

Even better would be to have four titles, each with nine chapters. A "main menu" would allow you to pick which of the four titles to view, and each title could have its own chapter select menu. I'm guessing this is beyond the scope of DVD Shrink. Are there free (or if not, affordable) tools that make this possible?
