Question about de KDVD matrix

Hi, Is it convenient use the matrix KDVD in the backups of normal movies?? and what encoder is better for this? HCenc or CCE SP 2.70? Tanks.

If the answer is yes, then I suspect that KDVD matrix is really suitable for low bitrates only (since the aim of KDVD is to increase playback time). So, it is really hard to answer your question, because whether that matrix is optimal or not for each particular movie will depend on compressibility of the movie you are encoding and on the bitrate.

I personally encode using HCenc with MPEG matrix (usually), as well as with HCLow matrix (for low bitrate encodes).

So, I would suggest you to test different matrixes (e.g. by encoding short test samples with different matrixes at some fixed bitrate), and then choose which one suits you best.
