Hello,

I have a bunch of questions about how to setup the DivX codec for good encodes.

Codec tab: What should I set for Experimental SSE4 full search?

What should I set for Bidirectonal coding?

How much should I set for Max keyframe interval?

What percent should I set for keyframe threshold?

Video tab:

Should I set for Noise Reduction?

What should I set for Psychovisual Enhancements?

That is all my questions. Please reply back ASAP. Thank you.

There are many, many guides on encoding to DivX...

But just a few things. Bidirectional coding helps compression efficiency, but limits very little what the files can be played on, and slows down encoding. I recommend enabling it. Noise reduction removes noise, but may kill some detail. Psychovisual enhancements are good for very low bitrate video, it works by encoding parts of the video more that your eyes can't see well. The keyframe options should be left at default, they determine how often keyframes (low compressed frames useful for references, placed at scene changes) are used. Only use SSE4 if you have an SSE4-capable processor.

Of course, I always recommend Xvid above DivX. But it's your choice, they're both good.
