Newbie here,

I'm trying to convert my movies to wmv format so I can put them on an external hard drive and hook them directly to my Xbox to play, using windows media encoder. I can convert the video but it always comes out in stereo sound only. I have AC3 filter, but for the life of me I can't seem to get 5.1 surround. I've tried automkv but still got stereo sound only. I have to be missing a step somewhere just can't figure it out.

I'm running vista ultimate
I convert my vob to to mpg using vob2mpg
then import that into meida encoder

Thanks for any help
