I can see from the pics of dvdit pe that it allows you to set the output to cdr. That would remove the problem with splitting vob files. Anyone tried this program and made minidvd on cdr?

Does it work like making a minidvd on several cds with an ifo file for each?

And how is the multiplexing of ac3 and m2v files? Does it work without getting out of sync? The site says it supports ac3.

Just looking for the easiest way to make backup of my expensive dvds to minidvd on cdr without any animated menues or anything like that.

Vobsplit dosen't work for me. When I try to play the files in powerdvd in disc mode after using vobsplit it says unknown format. And bbmpeg gives no audio in disc mode after authoring.

By the way how does dvdit pe work with subtitles. What program do I use to extract subtitles for usage in dvdit?

Thanks for any help you might provide.

I just tried dvdit PE 2.5 and it sucks. IT does not support dolby digital 5.1. Maximum 2.0. And if the file is more than 700mb it does not support cdr. It can't split the vob files....

DVDit is probably a good program for your own homeshot movies.

Anyone tried ulead? How is that? Can it split the movie and make it fit onto cds? Does it support digital 5.1 sound?

What is the problem with making a program that can author and split the files into your choise?
