Been decrypting for a long time, but now i want to shrink/convert huge .vob dvd files to .avi. I've figured out several other conversions involving other formats but the programs i've tried so far for vob to avi don't seem to be working, or if they are would take days to convert a full length movie. Read the forums and came up with gordian knot-sure couldn't make that work- and perhaps this DVD2AVI. Is this the best program to do what i want? If so, can you give me a link? If not, can you give me a clue?!
Thanks as always-

Don't ask what's best, it's against forum rule 12.

You can download DGMPGDec and read the QuickStart guide that comes with it.

tried that. The guide was anything but quick, and i managed to get vid but no sound- think i had better luck with another program which made more files for me though i can't for the life of me get sound WITH video- maybe i'll search that forum more. And keep working on it. One last thing before i'm too far out off track for this forum though. Is it true that VOB is just a more difficult format to convert? Other format conversions like avi to ipod(mp4?) are so easy- 'open' and 'convert'.

The quick start guide has a section describing how to get your audio.

@dinghy

Hi!

You might want to try MPEG Mediator...
