View Full Version : Joining mp4s using Yamb

To the gurus out there in doom9 land,
I have the latest version of yamb. I try to join 2 mp4 files (h.264, aac) using the yamb "click to join supported files". In VLC, I get two windows. In MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC, the joined file halts, like it's having too much trouble playing back. The cpu usage also climbs quite a bit. I tried it using different movies, and I get the same result.
So....any clues, answers?
Gracias

Wrong forum? Doesn't that depend upon perspective? My encode WAS using h.264 within an mp4 container. This forum seemed appropriate enough to me. But thanks for your very useful post.

The better place for questions and bugreports about Yamb is the "Containers" forum not this one...
btw,
1/ update your MP4Box (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=mp4tools/&file=MP4Box-0.4.5-dev.zip)...
2/ update your Yamb build (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=Yamb/&file=Yamb-2.0.0.8_20071210.zip)...
3/ try once again. ;)

Thanks for the input. But....updating my mp4box made things worse; yamb wouldn't even work then. So what I had to do was revert to an even earlier version of mp4box (0.4.3). That did the trick. Things are smooth as butter now.
