Concerning the the 5 bitrate matrices, does the encoder automatically choose the correct matrix or do you choose the right one manually? Why is there for example a "low bitrate" & other options in each of the 5 different matrices?
I added one of rockas matrices in the matrix folder & it appears in all 5! How would i choose rockas' 1-high_high 4000+ matrix ? All this is confusing. I include an image to show rockas' matrix. Help please :)

You choose it. The names shown only reflect the names of the matrices you have in the matrix directory. The defined matrix could be named anything. Your could use something called "Very Low" for high bitrates if you wanted to.
You select it by double clicking on the matrix you want to use.

Does that mean i have to untick the "encoder default" in main feature & also untick the others too? Then select the one i want & tick all the "very lows" in all 5 blue boxes? Thanks jdobbs.

You don't "have to" do any of it. In fact I'd recommend leaving everything at the defaults in most cases.

But i want to get into the meat of these things!:)
I just used the top image as an example to explain to me if i'm on the right track! Thanks jdobbs:)

You might like to download matrices that cover these "regions" and include them in the Matrix sub-folder and tick them as appropriate.
