Looks neat, can this to straight DVD-9 to DVD-5 reencoding?

Also the audio recoding feature looks AWESOME, as there are many dvds where you can recode the audio and it will fit.

No, it is full re-encoder/copier for M1V and M2V streams. To decrease audio bitrate, firstly combine your VOB files, then re-convert audio streams, video streams could be copied. Full re-encoding for video stream is also possible.
