Cutting H.264 is problematic, because you'll loose frame-accuracy.
But this doesn't mean it won't work at all!
So what are your exact steps? What did you expect? What was the actual result?

The easiest way is with the full version of Quicktime. You can save only a portion of the video without re-encoding.

Or MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/) (+QuickTime).
And i'm think it's possible used Yamb (MP4box).

While i gave the video input in Avidemux it showed
H264 detected
If the file is using bframe as reference, it can lead to crash or stutteting.
Avidemux can use another mode which is safed but YOU WILL LOOSE FRAME ACCURACY.
Do you want to use that mode ?
I gave use that mode
but no use. i couldn't create sample. After saving the sample i couldn't see video.

I already tried Yamb no use i couldn't do with that also.
when i cut with MPEG streamclip and saved the file it showed 0bytes. Then i tried again but this time copied it and saved, while playing the video the audio went 10sec forward Then i again tried copying & succeeded.:D
:thanks: for ur Help

Nope. As far as I understand, reordering the frames properly in H.264 is none-trivial. Therefore Avidemux offers the so-called "special mode" for H.264 streams. In this mode Avidemux let's the decoder decide the frame type. But the decoder will buffer a number of frames in it's "internal" buffer. So when you put one frame in the decoder, you cannot be sure which frame comes out. This leads to loosing frame-accuracy. Very much the same problem that occurs in VirtualDub. Mean has said that supporting H.264 streams in a frame-accurate way needs to rewrite big parts of the program. It's planned for the next major version. But I did not read any news about that issue lately...

Avidemux is an OpenSource project. The devs are working on it in their free time. So it's easy to imagine that - in contrast to commercial products - their are no planned release dates. It's done when it's done. Asking for release dates won't speed it up. But I wouldn't expect a new major version in the near future. There are enough things to fix in the 2.4 series...

I'm trying to remember the last commercial product that I've seen that gave a planned release date and then actually kept it.... drawing a blank though. :p That's just the nature of the beast.

This should work, but once again only on keyframes. Be sure to use Version 0.9.12.2, previous versions had a bug when calling mp4box (wrong time formatting).
/OT: H264 in an AVI container can be cut precisely with virtualDub. SmartRendering must be activated and ffdshow Version beta4a_rev1723_20071224 must be installed as codec. Be sure to use this version, since later releases don't seem to include the necessary encoder. You can get this version here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=199421
Maybe that will help someone.

Very much the same problem that occurs in VirtualDub.
Oops, didn't see that remark. But I must say that it works fine for me with Cut Assistant, VirtualDub and FFDShow.
