Fixing 'Resize-before-IVTC' Artifacts

Is there any way to fix this?
I downloaded this commercial off its official website incase you're wondering.

I just don't understand why they would put up a commercial that's been destroyed like that in the first place - if anything, it'll act as a deterrent instead of being appealing.

Don't those people watch what they're putting up even once? :confused:

Don't know. I've seen a few TV broadcasts where they put together a collection of videos and some of them are resized without being deinterlaced.

Whilst you can't fix it, I'm surprised no one here has ever attempted to improve it a little. I guess they've never had an incentive to do so.

If the source is 3-2, rather than true interlaced, it should be slightly easier.

Still, for this source, maybe they'll show the advert on TV? It should be fine there.

Perhaps the OP of that thread on videohelp did the mis-resizing himself? If you start out with such big "bands" from wrongly resizing interlaced content, all hope is lost. I don't see how the mentioned filter combo should work out, since there's no combing in the source that SmartDeint could even reckognize ...
