I have DVD Shrink installed an two computers. On the one it has worked perfectly for backing up a variety of DVDs. On the other, it will not back up any disc. I keep getting the 'out of memory' message. Both computers are running XP, though the one where it will not work also contains media center (if that's relevant). Any help you can offer would be great.

I've noticed the same thing - if you look at windows task manager after you start backing up the disc, you'll notice DVDShrink starting to spool into the pagefile, until finally the pagefile runs out of capacity at which point you get the error. I noticed this running DVDShrink on a Windows 2003 Server x64 R2 edition, and thought it was just an incompatibility due to not being XP. I've never seen the bug on my XP machines.

I'm pretty sure that MCE existing on the box having the out of mem error has nothing to do with it.

I haven't been able to pinpoint why the error happens, but it stopped happening on the machine I was having problems with after I eliminated a bunch of junk from RunAtStart .. (click Start->Run->type MSCONFIG <enter>) and you can eliminate unnecessary junk from running at startup. That's a longshot ofcourse.

You might test backing up to a different drive than the one you're *trying* to back up to (ie if you're specifying the destination path as a network share, then switch it to a local drive, or vice versa) and see if that has any effect.
