Hi there ..
I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend software for encoding some 1920x1080 video into MPEG-2 transport stream ... it can be PC or MAC...
Cost is not really an issue, more important is getting the best encoder with lots of customisable settings...
Currently the only software I have to create transport streams is Sorenson Squeeze ... but I hope there is something more high-end...
thanks for your help

thanks for the suggestion .. but I need an encoder with a lot more customisable settings ... I need to be able to encode at up to 50Mbps, be able to set the GOP structure, packet size etc etc etc

Is the video already encoded as MPEG2? If so, you just need a transport muxer, such as Elecard XMuxer. If not, then you need an MPEG2 encoder such as HCEnc, followed by transport muxing.
You can't change the GOP structure in the muxer, that is a function of the encoder. The packet sizes are standardized for different services, e.g., 188 bytes for DVB.

the video is not already MPEG2. It is uncompressed 1920x1080. It will be used in a digital video unit that outputs multiple streams of video for multi-screen presentations. We need to encode to these very specific settings....
can any MPEG2 stream be converted to a transport stream after encoding? or is this done during the encode?
the parameters we were given are:
-Must be transport stream
-Main Profile High Level MP@HL 4:2:0
-Transport packet size is 188bytes or 224 bytes
-Stream must start on an I frame and finish on a 188 bytes packet boundary.
- Recommended video PID numbers are 0x11, 0x21, 0x31.
- GOP Closed
-13 or 15 frames GOP
-each GOP will contain a header
Can you recommend any software than will let us encode to these specific parameters? Your help is much appreciated, thanks

I already told you: HCEnc plus Elecard XMuxer Pro.

or HCEnc + Manzanita or Mainconcept Encoder (single tool solutions - encoder + muxer - muxer have some problems with PSI tables but can create constant bitrate TS)
