I wonder is anybody using TTempSmooth motion compensated with MVtools, and if so do they have any advice to offer on a good way to go about it? E.g. would you spend cycles on the best MVAnalyse (small blksize/overlap) with a small radius for TTempSmooth, or go for more basic analysis (no blksize=8/16, no overlap) and go for maximum TTempSmooth radius?

[About a year back, when I first discovered mvdegrain2, I got interested in using long timebase temporal filters to reduce block flicker on DVDs. It seemed promising, but it was just too slow for me at the time. After a PSU failure and system meltdown, I now own a shiny new quadcore and the mother of all air coolers. So I'd like to revisit the subject. But there's no sense duplicating work if anybody else has done it.]

Guess the answer is "yes". Here Didée uses MV+TTempSmooth in a sort of MVDegrain3's replacement (it's not public yet):
