Hi,
if I start the new CCE 2.64.00.10 the computer freezes or crashes down (Athlon 650, WinXP). This takes place even before starting the encoding process.
Is there anyone who has the same problems with this new version of CCE?
I would not change from 2.62 to 2.64 but 2.64 supports .avs files.

cce 2.64 doesnīt support direct avs loading.
The file handler was not changed since 2.62 ...
Maybe you have wrong version.
2.64.01.02 is the latest one.
I assume you have min 256 MB RAM ;)
When does system or cce crash ? By starting cce, by loading some files or by starting to encode ...

can't test it 'cause it crashes before i can select a file :( but the open-dialog give me the option to open .avs files

Did you avs-patch your cce or where do you have it from ?
Thatīs the only explanation why you have avs in the dialogue box.
But if you have loaded your avs cce would complain "this is not an avi file". so no solution.
try to drag and drop your avs from explorer to cce.
and add resampleaudio(44100) to your avs-script. prevents sometimes from crashing even it is not needed any longer.
I donīt have more tips cause mine never crashed that way ...

that version is not patched!
goto cinemacraft.com the choose japanese and look for the download option on the menue at the left.
there you can download the new 2.64 version.
don't know why you havn't this option if you choose english.
but as i wrote it crashes my compi down :(

cce 2.64 shows avi, mov,dv,omf and nothing else !
why should cinemacraft support the rippers (avs) file format.
because of the rippers they have changed their file handler to not support avs any longer from v2.50 to v2.56 ...
The avs-patch is no crack if you think that. Itīs sometimes a helpful little legal programm ...

sorry, but i can't remember that i've installed this patch.
if so, must be looooong time ago.
but my question was not about avs support but about the stability of that new version.

did you drag and drop now ?
maybe you should set some compatibility modus within xp (which is based on w2k).
many w2k users had crashing problems until they set back to nt compatibility mode ...
I donīt know, maybe some other guy knows a solution.
For me cce works like a charm (on xp too and on my other installed operating systems).

That is the 'lite' version of the encoder and it is highly beta!

Ah yes, Uli thats it. Iīm talking the whole way about cce 2.64sp and bommelid means lite.
Tried it and, yes it shows avs. Thatīs the low cost product and here the ripping community seems to be supported.
btw, worked for me like a charm, no crashes ...

My version of CCE SP 2.64.01.02 (trial) doesn't support .avs file, but it support avi through vfpapi (if I remember the v2.62 doesn't support this method).
I don't have any problems on my AMD Duron 900 with 512Mo Ram and on my Athlon 1.4Ghz with 512Mo ram

avi through vfapi is no problem with V2.62
maybe there is a problem with audio. but that is allways a problem with CCE.
but video-only avi through vfapi is no problem.

Well... 2.64 SP keeps buggin' as hell :(
After the first pass it simply crashes to Desktop with illegal access.
2.62 SP works like a charm with exactly the same AVI...
I think there is a lot work to do... bad cracking?
2.64 lite has a 30 second barrier wich makes it unusable.

2.64 demo work if u didnt' apply the "logo removed" patch
if u used the "logo removed" patch, it became unstable and crashed a lot
for 2.6+ version, use xmpeg+aviwrapper+cce2.6x is the fastest. i'll assume that cinema craft made the demo a LITE version cuz 2.64 demo elementary multi-pass result isn't as good as 2.62 multi-pass. probably need to get the retail version to check on the "super vcd" profile. that one should do a better job

If you read cce2.64sp docs you can see that svcd only is available if the input size is already 480x480/576.
Thatīs because cce has no 2/3D1 resizer.
And yes, the cracked cce 2.64sp crashes after .vaf in multipass mode.
cbr and onepass vbr work.
