View Full Version : Nero 8 + DVD Shrink = Randomized Scenes

Anybody had this problem? Everything worked fine under Nero 7 but when I upgraded to Nero 8 all DVDs burned using DVD Shrink are screwed up. Screwed up as in the menus are gone or the movie starts playing in the middle when it is inserted on in the player. It's like the VOB got scrambled. However, I have DVD Shrink burn to a hard drive and use Nero 8 to burn to a disc...that fixes it. :confused:

Welcome to Doom9!

What media are you using? Post a burning log.

@Gussy

Hi!

Sounds like the same problem that arose with one of the 6.xxx versions - The SDK (the linking software that activates NERO from within DVD Shrink) didn't work properly with that particular version of NERO...

It's not the media...100%. There are no error messages and the randomness is the same and repeatable on each movie (e.g. the randomness is not the same for different movies, but for each movie the starting point is the same). For example, when I did 36th Chamber of Shaolin four times all the movies started at the same part of the film. The chapters are all seamless but not in the proper order.

So right now it's either I down grade back to version 7 or have DVD Shrink output to a hard drive and then manually burn from Nero.

I was hoping that someone might know a cure for this.

Thanks!

You might want to try to burn with DVD Shrink and ImgBurn with this patched version of Shrink (http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/DVD_Shrink_3_2_b_w_IB.zip).

some cracked versions of Nero f*ck up a lot of movie. Probably an upgrade will fix your problem.

What version of Nero 8 do you have? The latest available is 8.2.8.0, which is what I use and I haven't had any of the issues you've experienced. If you have a lesser Nero 8 version, I'd suggest updating yours and seeing if you issues are resolved.

I have the v8.1.x.x so I'll try and upgrade tonight. I've also found that some movies that are decrypted using DVDFab and burned using that same Nero has video and audio out of sync.
