I look all over the net for help on dat conversion. My prob is a want to convert all my vcd to avi. i use bbmpeg but it takes forever to multiplex the sound I have a 950 amd anthlon and I wanted to know was it another prog to use.....

vcdgear...perhaps CDMage I can't remember if it does or not. He's probably thinking he'll jack up the quality using DIVX...I wanna see this one:eek:

From someone that knows nothing about VCD....
...erm, can't you rename the dat file to a .mpg file then load it in VDub/NanDub ??? Then do what you want with it ...
Sorry if im talking crap, but that makes kinda sense to me (never tried it, never used a VCD)

All i did was ask a simple question and everyone jumped on my back... lol
the reason y i wanna convert my .dat's to divx is so it can match my other file i have on my hd. If i changed the .dat to .avi vdub will not load it becasue of the different type of stream..... And if im gonna loose quality by converting them to divx then i dont wanna do that. OH crap i forgot this was a .MPEG SITE huh oooops...... Ok Ok Ok let me rethink this.. LOL yep funny huh???????:D
