WMP Codec

a while back I read something about uninstalling WMP 7 because of the problem with installing the ASPI Layers. But if I have installed them already will it affect them if I uninstall WMP 6.4 and then reinstall WMP 7.1. Cuz it seems that when I play an autorun cd it tells me that it can't find filters to render the stream or some jazz and when i go to microsoft they say that WMP 7.1 has all the fixes to that problem but if it screws with my ASPI layer then i have no choice.

Another question, I just played an autorun cd and it loaded fine and then I put part two in and it came up with that message that I just wrote. Does anyone know why that is.

what's your OS?

don't bother uninstalling mplayer6.4
mplayer6.4 is best of them all it can do some things that 7 or 8 can't.:)
just reinstall 7.1 or jump to 8
they might mess up your ASPI drivers becuase WMP can burn cds..if that happens just reinstall whichever layer you were using b4.

okay well then if my WMP isn't divx related, which is fine, then how come when I insert a autorun burned movie that it gives that warning of not being able to find filters to render the stream ???
