Problem with Rip It 4 Me and Windows Vista

Hi,

I am recently encountering a problem with my computer that after Ripit4Me aborts the ripping after the DVD is ripped. It does not go the clean up and remove empty cells. I recently installed Windows VISTA on my computer. Is this a problem or am I the only one?

Is there a way around this?

Set both RipIt4Me and DVD Decrypter to run in 'Administrator' mode.

A few questions:

1. did you do a "clean" install of Vista?
2. if you did not, did you install Vista over existing installed apps?

Running the programs as 'Administrator' might not work especially if the program needs access to your temporary files; it may just hang or crash.

I would recommend doing a "clean" install of Vista and re-installing your apps (under your user) and make sure you have the latest release of your apps. I'm not certain if RipIt4Me is Vista compatible but if it's not, you may want to try and run it in compatibility mode as a "Windows XP SP2" application.

I'd run under compatibility mode before I run an app as administrator. Running as administrator actually loads the Administrator profile and workspace for the app and might "confuse" it and files it's trying to use because of NTFS.

Set both RipIt4Me and DVD Decrypter to run in 'Administrator' mode.

Yes and I can see your logic but it's been reported elsewhere that this works for this particular software combo.

I have a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
I installed in administrator mode both DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink; RipIt4Me of course I just put into a RI4M folder. In each program properties I set compatibility mode to WXPSP2 and checked the box for the program to run as an administrator. When I start any of these programs, I start as administrator. All of them run fine, no problems.
I'm also using DVDFabDecrypter in Vista ok, same comments on installing and running it.
AutoGK also runs ok.

Just one thing though. You'd be better upgrading to the free DVDFab HD Decrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm)which replaced DVDFab Decrypter some time ago.

As well as supporting the very latest protections, it's fully Vista compatible so you won't have to run it in compatibility mode.
