Weird line at top and bottom, "graphing" lines (urgent, please help!)

Hi!

First, I have a major problem, lines that seem to be going like a parabula or a graph: look at his shoulder (http://xs123.xs.to/xs123/08016/nnedi.png) here.
I'm lost as for how to make this look better.

Also, if you notice, there's a strange line at the top and bottom of this image. This isn't an effect of filters, because it's present in every video I open (including H.264 and DivX 6.6/6.4), so it's some decoder's fault. I have ffdshow (libavcodec in the configuration) decoding all of these.

Since I see these lines, it also means they'll go into anything I encode. I'd really like to get rid of them. (another image of the lines (http://xs123.xs.to/xs123/08016/line2.png))

Also, I'm in a hurry to finish a script and encode (deadline), so I'll appreciate quick help ><

Firstly, please don't resort to attention grabbing titles like "urgent" etc. I can't imagine how urgent encoding something can be.

OK, now to your issues - the first issue looks like aliasing. You should try an anti-aliasing filter like AAA or TIsophote (:search:). The issue may have been caused by improper deinterlacing in the first place. You should post your script here.

Second - you sure you get it in every single video? Looks like the usual dirty edges on DVD videos which we usually crop away. In your case, even if you crop the edges, those lines don't go away?

First issue - Aliasing? sure? It looks a bit too... how should I say.. soft to be aliasing. Either ways, I am using a slightly modified version of AAA (in comparison, AAA's default settings perform slightly worse when it comes to aliasing as in "steps" in lines), so, hmm...

I'll try TIsophote too. Anyway, I wasn't the person who deinterlaced it (and that person no longer has the source).

Second issue - Sorry, it appears that using AddBorders() creates a line that looks very similar. I was using Crop() and then AddBorders() earlier, and happened to stumble on two videos that also had it.

Now, I just cropped and resized and it's gone. Thanks =p I would not have checked again without this reply =x

btw, which resizer do you recommend I use for something like this?
Is there some website or FAQ that explains the differences between each resizer?

Just tried TIsophote. Even at max settings, that line's shape remains the same.

IMO, his source might not be a dvd, but I could be wrong. :)

"TVRip" to me very much sounds like he downloaded it (especially in conjunction with anime and having to "script and encode" it, and "urgently" at that); if you record it yourself you usually call it a "recording" or something similar...
