I have ripped VC-1 and audio from HD-DVD, but how would I mux those into .TS file? I have no idea what program to use for that.

I believe the latest version of Elecard's Xmuxer Pro does this.

does it have to be .ts? I did not think Xmuxer would mux vc-1; my version doesn't. I have been muxing vc-1 into .mkv.

Thank you, newest xmuxer works beautifully :).

Quick question. I ripped VC-1 ES from HD DVD but video seems to be 29.97. Do I need to fix it with vc1conv to 23.976 or is it ok to mux it as it is?

heh heh I gave you a wrong answer once, let me try twice... I think you need to convert to 23.976. I guess you will find out in playback however. How does it play back?

There doesn't seem to be any difference wether I use converted 23.976 or 29.97 file. WMP11 still reports FPS 23.976.

After some testing I decided to go with mkv container. Only thing I can't figure out is how to properly get VC-1 in it.

What I did was:

1. Converted VC-1 ES with vc1conv.
2. Converted VC-1 to avi with vc12avi, so I end up with bunch of 2Gb avi's.
3. Add first avi into mkvmergegui, then append second avi then add timecode file then mux.

Now I end up with mkv that is only playable at the beginning (first 2Gb's). It didn't seem to merge second, third etc avi at all.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Use VirtualDub to append the other AVIs onto the first, this will produce one large AVI file.

Hmmm...any idea how to get past this error in VirtualDub when opening avi:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'WVC1'"

I have FFDshow VFW installed.

Just ignore it :)

Can't. It won't even open the file in virtualdub because of that error.

Virtualdub 1.7.7 won't open the first file so there is not even append to select. I found VirtualDubMod, it seems to work ok.

i have been using AVIMux_Gui and that works very well, too, to re-join your AVIs, and it spits out the joined AVIs (muxed with your AC3 stream) within a .mkv file.
