Change AR from 4:3 2 16:9

Hey..

I have this movie (The American President PAL), when I got it it was in 4:3, but should have been 16:9...
I tried the easiest trick I know of, changing MENU & Movie attributes to 16:9 with IFO Edit..
So far so good, menu/movie plays 16:9 fine, but the movie contains 4 subtitle tracks, with id 20-23, but after changing movie attributes all has the same id 20..

How come, and what do I have to do to fix it?

It is very easy . From my personal experience that only some video converter can change AR ,while you can use xilisoft video converter it can change it in the right side of the interface

Changing the AR should not have any impact on the subpic tracks. Try to change it with PgcEdit. (Right-click on the movie PGC and select Domain Stream Attributes.)

Yes, change AR in vobs/mpeg2 streams, but when rebuilding with original menu & ifo/bups, the problem still exists..

I believe DVDRB can change from 4:3 to 16:9, but I haven't figured out how yet..

Normally, the AR info in the IFOs have precedence over the VOBs. However, for security, you can easily change the AR in the VOBs without re-encoding with DVDPatcher (http://www.wincesoft.de/html/dvdpatcher.html). But, of course, you MUST change it in the IFOs too. And if you use IfoEdit, don't forget that you have to change it in two IFO files! (PgcEdit changes both files in one operation.)
Anyway, that will not solve your subpic problem, so I suppose you have to start over.
