Hi,
I have a AVI video. I want to rip out a section of that video and then rip out the audio of that section. What would be the easiest way of doing this? I figured I could load up VirtualDub, select the desired frames, and then save them as an AVI. What would I have to do then to rip out the audio of the new AVI?

That is a very easy job that you only need to find one video edtior and then use it to seperate the audio from the avi files
there are a lot of this kind of tools you can baidu it form the internet

Use VirtualDubMod instead VirtualDub:
- Select range
- Streams -> Streams list -> Demux (the audio stream desired)

OK, I have a video loaded up in VirtualDubMod. I go to the Streams List and hit the Save WAV button to save my audio in a .wav format. The problem that I'm having is that the audio seems to be corrupted each time I save it. I try to convert it to a .ac3 with EAC3to and it says, "The format of the source file could not be detected." Is there a way to fix this?

I say you Demux, not Save WAV.
To use Save WAV you need:
- RightClick over the stream and select 'Full processing mode', instead the default 'Direct stream copy' (the compressed audio in a wav container not always supported for other soft).
- RightClick over the stream select 'Compression' and verify the mode '<No compression (PCM)>'
But I always recommend the Demux mode and use a external decoder instead VirtualDubMod (problems with VBR).
