Question about Nero 8

Before i go out and purchase Nero 8, could someone clarify if what i am assuming it will do is true...

I have an LG super multi HDDVD/BLURAY drive and would like to archive my movies in 720p to DVD9... so what i am reading is that Recode 3 will take the ripped files and compress them to AVCHD to fit a DVD9 which is burnable on red laser media (DVD9)to be played in a standalone hd-a2 correct?

Why not download the Nero 8 Demo and make sure it does what you want before buying it,it's fully functional. A better question would have been,I have this drive and I want to do this and I'm thinking of purchasing Nero 8,does anyone have any other options that I could consider,sorry I don't mean to harp at you.

i like ahead products, that is why i am leaning more towards nero

I like nero myself,not a big fan of the new set up,but anyway,just thought you woulda used the demo 1st,before posting,not a big deal,like I said-sorry,I was tired when I wrote the post.
