Can CCE encode Avid Xpress DV 2 " omf " file ?

Hello,

Have anyone sucessfully in importing and converting an " omf " file from Avid Xpress DV 2 NLE system by using CCE (Cinema Craft)encoder software. Please instruct me on how to do it, i would be very appreciate it.

Note: I see CCE has capability to import " omf " extension file, but when i try to add "omf" file, CCE will give me an error said that:
Codec is missing and won't accept it...etc. Please help !

the codec for decoding .omf has to be properly installed and registered in windows.

I also had a same problem. How do i install the OMF codec? Have you or anyone done this before ? Please help...Big thanks from you.

Note: I was using Avid Xpress DV 2 NLE system to do my Wedding Video, it is now done with the omf file, can i just use cce to import this omf file directly from my NLE system, thanks!

This is me Passport. This message was posted by my friend using my ID. He uses Avid Xpress DV 2.0. I think Avid Xpress uses Avid DV codec. He can edit, render, and exports to DV tape. There is no problem with those. He is trying to use stand alone CCE 2.62 to encode omf file (omf = file extension for Avid DV codec file). He can't import it, and the error message is "...codec missing..." This also happened to me before. I could edit, render... with Adobe Premiere. I could export to mpeg2 with CCE 2.62 plug-in for Premiere; however I couldn't encode it with stand alone CCE. I installed Mainconcept DV codec or Sony DV codec and the problem was solved! It looks like CCE can't find omf codec, but Avid Xpress DV is fine. Anyone has this problem? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Is the Avid DV codec installed in Windows.
Do you have some sort of .inf-file, then rightclick and choose install

I don´t know Avid DV Xpress 2.0 ...

The installed dv-codec is the one which is set in the video codecs in multimedia. don´t know the right english expressions for that.

For the MainConcept-DV-Codec f.e. you find in your system.ini [drivers32] the following line:
vidc.dvsd=mcdvd_32.dll

The Sony-DV-Codec has this line:
vidc.dvsd=SONYDV.DLL

So you can see there is only one dv-codec in your system as it always overwrites the vidc.dvsd-line.

And this has to be the right codec or a compatible one ...

in my case the *.OMF file is a text (NOT MEDIA) file !
solution:
in Avid DV Xpress 2.0 open your job -----> set the timeline active (click on it)
1. ---> FILE->EXPORT->OPTIONS->select AVI type,AVI codec (Your favorite) ,""video only"" then save and export
2. ---> FILE->EXPORT->OPTIONS->select AVI type,""audio only"" then save and export
3. run application that can export audio from an "AudioOnly.AVI" (Adobe Premiere) and export Audio as WAV file
4.run CCE ,open the just maded media files (1)-(3) ... and go to encode ...

This will take foreverrrrrrrrr if i want to export the whole entire 2 hours of my video to .AVI

Do know how to export directly from .OMF file as support by CCE ?

I dont know how to import *omf in CCE even it contain media.
I have the same error message "...codec missing..."
like passport' friend.
I use Premiere 4.2 and 6.01...
