Hello

I am really tired of burning the discs.. lol

When I make a dvd movie backup I use first PGCedit, VobBlanker then DVD Shrink. The files are valid and functional with no errors.

But when it comes to burning I dunno how many different methods I have tried to really make it optimal.

I have a fastidious dvd player Harman Kardon DVD1. But it usually works. However I am having problems making my xbox to recognize the discs.

So far I have burnt with Nero, DVD ISO, DVD Video and from image. Also burnt from DVD Decrypter from image file created by DVD Shrink.

Burning a DVD RW in Nero DVD Video will work fine in the Xbox

The Media I have used lately is TDK DVD+R.

... At least I have decorated a pretty wall from all my coasters :)
I live in Sweden so I have only like Verbatim and TDK as the best media to chose from

DVD Shrink

(OK for compression level > 85% it's OK but I would still not use it because it's Shrink, at least use PgcEdit + FixVTS after Shrink)

For media stick with Verbatim

ImgBurn is the best choice for burning

Hi and thanks for your reply

I find Shrink doing a very good job especialy when it can Deep Analyse the disc before. I donīt see any differance on my hdtv at least :)

ok.. Iīll try the imgburn software. Are there any settings I should be aware of?.... Or perhaps I will notice when I see it. hehe

Hi

Sorry I do not quite follow...
All I do in DVDshrink is to remove unwanted audio files and subtitles. I use Vob Blanker to remove vids

------

Anyhow... I have just now burnt a movie on another TDK and this time it is a DVD-R.
Xbox seems to be able to read from this one, and also my dvd player.... and I thought DVD +R is the better choice for movies...

I will someday buy and test some Verbatims aswell

Continue to prepare your DVD just like before. But, IMO, you should always output the files from Shrink to a folder, and then burn that folder with ImgBurn. (BTW, ImgBurn is the successor of DVD Decrypter.) You can even find on the web a patched version of Shrink that uses ImgBurn instead of Nero, if you really want to burn directly from Shrink.

Hi

And yes, I always have been outputting the data to a new folder from DVD Shrink. But itīs nice to know imgburner is the follow up from DVDdecrypter, had no idea of this.

Has anyone noticed any differances burning from an ISO and data files? Perhaps imgburner treat them the same... as it comes with burning quality?
