With such a big bang they came, but quietly like mice the company disappeared. What happened to Pulsent and their object-based codec? It's been 5 years since they announced it and I can still remember the first article I read about it...

Nothing. Last time I heard, they failed their last round of funding and the CEO left to start another company.

Pulsent was only going to fly if the telcos got behind it, but that never happened. Too much money had been invested into MPEG-2 and AVC was already being pushed as The Future. There just wasn't any room for a proprietary system from a single company to survive.
