Question about MPEG Modifier and Packed Bitstream...

I own Pioneer DVD Player and it doesn't supports packed bitstream so i'm using
MPEG Modifier to unpack DIVX files...

my question is -
what is the right way to do it?
i mean, do i need to change something in the "User Data"?
or just to leave it on "Auto"?

Yes you should change userdata. That "p" at the very end of DivX version stands for "packed" and is used to indicate to players that there exist packed b-frames in the stream.

The "auto" thing which erases whole DivX version is probably the best way to go.

Userdata is any extra information that can be encoded together with video. Decoders typically will ignore it completely, it's not part of video data as such.

However, many encoders use userdata to write their own identification and version. This is useful for solving compatibility bugs - if old encoder and decoder were broken, new decoder can still decode correctly because it's aware it needs to apply workarounds for that stream.
DivX also include the packed/nonpacked indication so that decoders know what to expect. XviD followed that indicator to maintain compatibility.
