View Full Version : DVD First Play Restart Problem

I've been unable to find an answer to this problem and I've been unable to solve it myself.

I've built two DVD's. One hash titles running from the VMG Title menu. The other has no VMG Menu but runs titles from the VTS1 Menu. First-Play is set to the corresponding menus on each DVD.

Both discs work perfectly on my PC and on my standalone DVD player. The menus run first when the discs are put into the standalone player, as they should.

The problem is that if I stop playback (disabling the "resume" on the standalone) and then restart the DVD by pressing play on the remote, playback always skips the menu and runs the first title. I have to open then close the DVD tray before it will run the menu.

Is there any way I can configure my DVD's to jump directly to the menu on restart, without having to open the DVD tray?

Thanks in advance.

Pressing play (resume disabled) executes a title play command to title 1 and all GPRMs are resetted.
So you can use these resetted GPRMs...

e.g
In First Play set one free GPRM
GPRM0=1

In the precommands of your title use
if (GPRM0 == 1) Goto 3
CallSS FP (rsm_cell 1)
Nop

or
create a title 1 (short black dummy) and navigate to first play

@bigotti5

Good advice. Everything is now working.

I think I would have got there in the end (using trial and error) but, the way my brain is bumping these days, it would probably take me until next year to sort it out.

Thanks for the good, speedy help. I like this forum.

Merry Christmas and many happy New Years to all.
