Does anyone know if there will be a HD version of Ripit4me, and if it will handle one or both formats?
I can't seem to get on to the Ripit4me web site.

Although "RipIt4me" continues to be an extremely useful tool for backing up the vast majority of DVDs, its development was forcibly discontinued in April 2007...

I still use RipIt4Me as primary unless it won't work (then I go to my trusty number 2 DVDFab). Currently it still works on probably 95% of the DVD's out there.

Hi!

If you're referring to using RipIt4me, do the following:

1) Make sure your target directory does NOT include the brackets in the name, as does the original DVD (<3:10 to Yuma>)

2) SKIP Step 3B and SKIP FixVTS (Or the equivalent step in later versions of RipIt4Me)

3) I'm guessing the DVDs are poorly mastered - because you REALLY have to be patient while A) the IFOs are first read and B) the PSL file is being created.

Other than that, it was smooth sailing (I used RipIt4Me v.1.6.4)

Sounds like you're doing a "movie only" copy.

What I described was regarding a "Full Disk" copy - and I did not pursue compressing it (I burned a D/L DVD)...

I've seen similar movies like these. How do you decide which ones to use and why are there more than one? I know it's not multi angle...but what are they?

Play the original in a software player (or a standalone) and note which title is being played. In the above case, I'd bet on title 1.

I also want to thank setarip_old for the specific and precise instructions as i had one heck of a time backing up this title.I tried both dvdfabhd 4050 & 4051B and they always froze at 6.68% with both my drives.I then tried movie only in dvdfab & ripit4me and failed.Then the setarip_old method on my new LG 18X burner-failed and last my16X Pioneer burner and finally-success!I was spending several hours on this with freeze ups and hard locks with both programs-i even lost both of my burners in XP during multiple reboots after one crash and i had to physically take them out and switch positions and jumper settings to get them back(deleting ide controllers did't help)and even the bios was having trouble and could not see the drives.Thanks once again setarip_old!

1) The brackets, "<" and ">" are not compliant with the DVD naming convention

2) After discovering that using ALL steps in the the "RipIt4Me" "Wizard Mode" resulted in a failed/incorrect rip, I simply deleted individual processes (and checked the results after each deletion) in a simple, logical process of elimination.

Hi!Did you make an ISO image?No, I created a standard DVD "package" (.IFOs, .BUPs, and .VOBs) on my hard drive and used IMGBurn in "Build" mode to burn to a D/L Verbatim DVD+R...

Sounds scary. Does AlainDelon's problem of having to remove and physically reinstall hardware after a bad rip occure often?
