Hi guys, I hope someone can help me. I am not sure which section I needed to post this but I really wanted to get some help here. You guys have always been courteous and very helpful in the past and I figured someone here would know what to do.
so here goes:

my wife shot some stuff using our kodak digital still camera. it has (like almost all digital cameras) a setting to capture video to our SD card. so she recorded some video and now we have about 7 videos in .mov format that we have transfered to our PC.

so here is the question. how to I burn these to watch on a DVD player. I know enough to know it has to be mpeg 2 format but how do I convert it? also is there a program that will allow me to edit as well. I might want to remove a few seconds here and there and maybe even merge a few or all into one single video.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh and please feel free to have this thread moved to the right section if it is not in the right place.

another quick question my friend.
is there an easy to use software for editing these videos first before feeding them to DVDFLICK?

My wife took multiple small videos of co-workers saying bye to another co-worker. now she wants to edit them together but also add a common music track in the background which cannot be done with DVDFLICK.

anything out there, preferably freeware :) that can do that for her then either transfer to DVD or can be sent to DVDFLICK for it to transfer to disk.

thanks in advance!

I can only speculate that, in order to edit .MOV-format video, you'd have to be using a MAC and MAC-specific software.

Otherwise, search for PC-specific software that can, if such software exists, convert .MOV to MPEG...

don't have a MAC. our Kodak camera just seems to record in that format to the SD card. personally would have prefered mpeg but my wife chose the camera and she chose it primarly for picture quality and ease of use. had never considered using it as a camcorder but since we did this one time now we want to work with what we have.

had not wanted to do multiple conversions like MOV to AVI to edit then AVI to MPEG2 for DVD etc. but I will if I have to I guess. will first look for an editor that can edit MOV if not maybe a converter from MOV straight to MPEG2 then edit from there.

thanks again
