Okay some heads up things: I've got a Mac Pro (with Nvidia 7300GT card in it) connected over DVI to my LG L204WT display. Apparently this combo is not HDCP compliant (damn The Man!). I've also got an xbox hddvd drive. And I'm running Leopard (so I've got udf 2.5).
When trying to watch any movie in Windows, it won't let me (not compliant). I can however, watch movies on my Macbook Pro, but I'd like to watch it on a nicer display, you know? And plugging in my display to the laptop doesn't work for playback either. So I am at a loss.
And yes I've looked around the forums a little bit, but I still need some help.
So I think the best route I should take is ripping the movie to watch it. Ideally I'd like to do everything in Leopard but if I can't, I guess I can use Windows.
I'm trying to use DumpHD on my Mac but I'm really confused about the whole "aacskeys wrapper" thing. How do I get that working? Will it even compile for OS X? So how do I go from there?
And also, lets imagine I do get a disc to rip (with your help of course), how to I go about playing it back? I believe there are no software players for Mac OS X yet, but I think there's a way to convert the rip with ffmpeg? Am I correct? Anybody have a guide for that?
So please let me know what I can do. I'm a computer science student, and while I don't claim to know everything about computers, I'm also not totally braindead so don't be too afraid to be a little technical if need be. Thanks in advance for any help!
