I am quite new to this so I will try to explain the problem as best as possible.
I am using Gordian Knot to create DivX movies from some of my DVDs. I am able to rip the DVDs fine and use DVD2AVI fine, but when I am choosing a resolution in GKnot and select SAVE & ENCODE in the DVD2AVI window and preview the results, any resolution over a width of 400 produces strange verticle lines down the right hand side of the movie. The lines seem to made up of the last 1/4 or so of the screen image being squashed together. The higher the resolution i choose above 400 the more of these lines appear.
I have tried continuing the process to the final stage in case these lines were just an artifact of the preview but they were still there in the final AVI.
FYI, the DVDs are PAL, region 4 and are interlaced, though I choose SMART DEINTERLACE when creating the AVSfile. I have only been selecting the first few chapters for conversion at this stage just as a test run, and have not tried to encode an entire movie.
Hope i've explained this problem OK.
