The new ulead 11 plus with HD pack has the H.264 codec built in. After i took my sony HC3 HDV and converted it to H.264 it gave me a file with a .mpg extension and 1/3 the size of the raw HDV...quality looked the same....so i was hopeful i could import this mpg into the HD-DVD build and master an HD-DVD disk to be burned to regular dual layer dvd and have over an hour of HD footage that was compatible with toshiba HD-dvd since they all support h.264 codec.... not so.... the program took the h.264 video and remade it into again a 25mbit HDV MPEG2 to be used for mastering the HD-DVD.... major fail...

any other ideas how i can master HD-DVDs with a better codec then MPEG2 to get more footage on the DVD9 disk... All hd-dvd players support VC1, AVC and MPEG yet no one has yet to make a good guide to make compatible hd-dvds on dvd9 in anything but mpeg2

UVS11 and DMF6 always use mpeg2 for HD-DVD...
Nero8 with HDDVD plugin able author and record h264/avc for HDDVD.

P.S. this question-answer need to be in "authoring" section of forum :)
