I tried connecting 3 different external usb hard drives all formatted fat32. On the DVD player display it switches from 'USB MODE' to 'USB DATA', but I don't see the file explorer pop up. Am I doing something wrong? Or are all 3 of my hard drives not compatible? I also hear my hard drive spinning

All hard drives have their own external power source and are formatted in fat32. The manual said I'm supposed to see 'USB ERR' if its not compatible so I still have some hope. I'm using a 250gb hdd.
