I'm trying to extract the subtitle file in a MKV. mkvextract reported this error.
Warning: Invalid format for a SSA line ('xU3'4Ñ1DqIMK,I)ÑÑ1') at timecode The first field is not an integer. This entry will be skipped.
VirtualdubMod can't open this MKV files either, I get "Matroska stream 1 doesn't have a samplerate" error.
Is there a way to extract this subtitle file?

This is from mkvinfo
+ A track
+ Track number: 3
+ Track UID: 3
+ Track type: subtitles
+ Lacing flag: 0
+ Default flag: 1
+ Codec ID: S_TEXT/ASS
+ Content encodings
+ Content encoding
+ Scope: 3 (1: all frames, 2: codec private data)
+ Content compression

I can view the subtitles using Media Player Classic but not through Avisynth. Is there a way to make the subtitles appear in Avisynth?

Hi!Is subtitle in MKV encrypted? How did you create the .MKV file? Did YOU do something to encrypt the subs?

I'm trying to extract the subtitle file in a MKV.It would probably be simpler to use the same original source material that you used to create this problematic .MKV - and, instead, create one without subtitles, if that's what you're trying to accomplish.

On the other hand, if you're simply trying to obtain the subtitles, just rip them from the original source material...

I didn't create this MKV. I'm trying to extract the subtitle file from this MKV, does the information I provided means that it is encrypted or not?

I got the subtitles to appear in TMPGEnc, I was using CCE.

No, it means your mkv file is most likely corrupted.

fansubbers were often requesting the possibility to encrypt soft subs, to make sure other fansubbers cant use them easily for their own rips. But i am not aware this has even been implemented, especially because of the missing playback support for such subs in OSS players ?
