I am downloading my camcorder miniDVD, (SD), to hard drive, editing them, and writing them out to DVD with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 Basic. I get the files initially as MPG, (MPEG2/AC3 DVM), edit them to AVI, (DivX/AC-3 ACM), and try to write them out.
I wanted to test out the life cycle, and attempted to write out both the AVI and MPG files. Roxio 7 Basic is complaining about trying to write out the AC3 of the MPG file, but is agreeable with the format of the AVI file (it writes out the MPG with no sound).
Anybody know what is the difference between the 2 files, as far as Roxio 7 Basic is concerned. Is there another DVD creator that will write both type of files without complaining (FREE one always preferred).
