This is a guide of conversion of stereo to 5.1 Surround, without plug-ins.

Channels fL fR

- In Sony Sound Forge 9, chosse Process / Channel converter

Press Invert Mix (image)

Frontal channels without voice

- Chosse Process / Channel Converter

Channel Center

- Chosse Process / Channel Converter to Select Preset: Stereo to Mono - Use both channels (50 %)

- Chosse FX Favorites / Sony / FlangeWah-Wah
Configuration for the center channel

- Chosse File / New Proyect 5.1 Apply / OK.

- Copy and Paste channels fL - Center - sL in tracks 1, 3 and 5, in the 5.1 Surround proyect.

- Copy channel fR to select track 2 (Proyect 5.1 Surround).
- Chosse Edit / press Go to... Position 00:00:00,010
- Edit / Paste

- Copy channel sR to select track 6 (Proyect 5.1 Surround).
- Chosse Edit / press Go to... Position 00:00:00,010
- Edit / Paste

- Without LFE :rolleyes:

How about LFE ?!
..mix all channels with crossover frequency 80Hz into LFE..

..mix all channels with crossover frequency 80Hz into LFE..

The better choice when upmix 2 -> 5.1 is let empty the LFE channel.

Don't mistake LFE with subwoofer, if the audio equipment is configured to play low frequencies with a subwoofer, that job is make automatically.

In channels sL sR to 50 / -47, there is a slight difference of 3%, to cause a delay between the two channels.
