you have to setup the frameserver and enter calculator-values manually:
edit an avs-file and replace
mpeg2source("C:\Movie.d2v")
with
DirectShowSource("C:\Movie.mpg")
and so on...
IMHO it absolutely makes no sense to convert mpg-1 to divx. you will just degrade quality once more. save the time, keep and burn the files as the are.

oh it does make sense..
ever downloaded family guy episodes and cleaned them with warp sharp, temporal smoother and such things?
it rocks.. and the file size is half afterwards!

i do a lot of mpg1-divx conversion too, with filters, better quality and less size.
another way would be to convert the mpg in uncompressed avi, then use gknot as explained in the guides "usage of gknot with avi".
i would like that the Wef,after his great "standard" work,
will make GKnot more flexible

Hello !
I would like to know what programs
(I did not manage to get the avs file quite
right to accept the MPEG-1 I have, and anyway,
that is quite a lot of work for not that much output)
you out there use to convert MPEG-1 to DivX
with DivX 3/4/5 in 2-pass mode .
I can use VirtualDub for DivX 4/5 encoding ,
but have not found something that can make a
mpeg --> divx 3.11 conversion .
I like all the parameters in gordianKnot ,
especially the possibility to adjust according to the
bits/pixel ratio .
So please tell me how you do it , please .
Regards,
Jan .
