Hey y'all...I just got a new Dell computer with Vista installed. It's a 2.4ghz Intel quad core with 4gb of ram. I just installed DVD Decrypter, and my 16x (TSST Corp) drive is only ripping discs at about an average of 6x. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I don't even know where I would start to fix this. Thanks!

Hi!
As long as it's ripping at significantly faster than 2X, it's neither locked nor in PIO (rather than DMA) mode.
Since you state that you just installed DVD Decrypter, you probably haven't checked out too many different DVDs yet on this drive. I mention this because there is no consistency regarding rip speed.
As an example, although one of my burners typically rips D/L commercial DVDs at somewhere between 10X and 14X, the average ripping speed it attained with the new "Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix" R1 DVD was 3.2X, with a high speed of 4.3X...
